Palestinian Consulate in Benghazi reopened

BENGHAZI – The Foreign Ministry of the Libyan Interim Government announced on Sunday reopening the Palestinian Consulate at its new headquarters in Benghazi.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Consul General of the State of Palestine in Libya, Ahmed Jarrar, the Ministry said in a statement.

A delegation representing the Ministry participated in the inauguration of the new Consulate headquarters, and the members of the delegation affirmed their happiness for the resumption of consular work to serve the Palestinian community, and to express the Libyan people’s faith in the just cause of the Palestinian people to recover their rights, liberate their land and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, the Consul General of the State of Palestine expressed his happiness with all the facilities provided by the ministry in order for the consulate to resume its work in positive conditions, stressing the depth of the brotherly relations and ties that bind the Palestinian people with the Libyan people for long decades, expressed by sincere and fixed positions towards the central Arab issue; Palestine.
