The spokesman for the Libyan National Army, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, confirmed that they “took control of the situation inside the city of Sebha” after what he described as “attempts to destabilize security by armed men who recruited numbers of mercenaries with them.”
In press statements, Al-Mismari indicated that the LNA Military Zone in Sebha “quickly addressed the situation and expelled the groups outside the city.”
On Monday, Sebha witnessed heavy and medium weapons fire, after a force from the Sebha Military Zone, affiliated with the Government of National Accord, entered the city center for hours before withdrawing to its headquarters in an agricultural area in Al-Qurdah area.
