US Ambassador: Meeting of LPDF Advisory Committee in Geneva is critical juncture in the political process

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

LIBYA – The US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland wished success to the members of the Advisory Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) at their upcoming meeting this week in Geneva.

The Ambassador indicated that this meeting comes at a critical juncture in the political process and that the committee members have the ability to place the aspirations of all Libyans above the interests of some Libyan and foreign parties, US Embassy in Libya tweeted.

Norland added that committee members have the opportunity to reach an agreement on forming a new interim executive authority that could pave the way for national elections later this year, in addition to having the mandate to restore Libya’s sovereignty and respond to the Libyan people’s call for change, while this opportunity will not last forever.
